British singer/songwriter Oliver Pinder is known for his sad boy indie pop songs. He first gained attention with the song “Dear” in 2015 at 14 years old. This was included on his debut EP “Island Rain” which was released independently on all streaming platforms, alongside a limited run of vinyl. He continued to tour the UK supporting the likes of; JP Cooper, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Embrace, Billie Marten, Marika Hackman, Isaac Gracie and more. In 2018, Pinder decided to take a break from releasing and touring to focus on becoming more independent.
Hailing from Bradford, England, Pinder grew up as an only child with his mother after loosing his father at a young age. He grew up listening to the likes of Neil Diamond, Don Mclean, Meatloaf in his dad’s yellow pickup, soundtracking their frequent drive to home-away-from-home in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
Since taking a break, Oliver has wrote thousands of songs. In 2022 he began bringing the songs to life with co-writer and long-term friend Jacob Clarke at Jacob’s studio, Evoke. Jacob and Oliver have been friends for years, Clarke used to play guitar in Oliver’s band, touring the UK together in 2018. In a short time, they have written, produced and recorded Oliver’s forthcoming EP together.
The upcoming music takes a different approach for Oliver, with a more indie pop sound, the body of work talks about growing up, dealing with stress, anxiety, falling in and out of love. The first single ‘Stressed’ is loaded with neat guitar-work, infectious vocal lines, and production that comes infused with personality, ‘Stressed’ offers the perfect autumnal glow. The second single, ‘Beautiful Second’ releases on the 27th of January, this takes a new turn, taking the listener on a journey through a relationship that has an expiration date, set to be Oliver’s best release yet.
